Honestly
Does any of this sound familiar?
Many international nurses in Germany know at least one of these situations. You are not the only one.

The job is fine. The place isn't.
The work itself is okay. But the region, the colleagues, everything around it — none of it feels like you.
After your shift, you're on your own
You miss people who speak your language and understand your daily life — especially on your days off.
A nurse on paper, an assistant in practice
You have a degree or completed training. Your current role barely shows it.
You don't dare change anything
Because nobody has told you what changing employer would mean for your residence permit (Aufenthaltstitel). That is exactly what we look at first — long before you resign.
Our approach
We don't just pass you on. We make sure you actually settle in.
Changing jobs is more than a new position to us. It's about your life here — your workplace, your region, your people. That's why our support doesn't stop the moment a contract is signed.

How we support your fresh start
Four steps, so your next job genuinely fits you.
- 1
Understanding you
We get to know you personally.
- Your qualification and recognition status
- Your professional goals and situation
- Whatever else matters to you personally
- 2
Finding the right employer
Not just any position — an employer who genuinely fits.
- Work at the level of your qualification
- Real opportunities to develop
- A team that actively welcomes international colleagues
- 3
Choosing the right region
At least as important as the employer.
- People from your country and an international community nearby
- Easy to get around
- A place you're glad to be in after your shift too
- 4
Settling in
We support you through the whole change.
- Communication with your new employer
- Help with authorities and paperwork
- If a move is part of it, finding a flat and registering
- One contact person, also after your first day at work
Community
Not arriving alone — the cluster principle
A better job in the wrong region starts to feel lonely very quickly. That's why we place people in groups rather than one by one. This is what we check before suggesting a region to you:
Who is already there
Are there already people from your country or other international colleagues working nearby? Placing people in groups rather than individually is the heart of the principle.
How you get around
Getting there without a car, connections to the nearest bigger city, the trip to work on shift hours.
What's there locally
Shops, doctors, places of worship, sport, things for families — what turns somewhere you live into somewhere you have a life.
Who your contact person is
One person at Sunny HR who knows your situation. No ticket system, no changing inbox.

And after your first day at work?
That's not where our support ends. Dealing with authorities, problems in the new team, the second stage of recognition — and if you do move, finding a flat. The same contact person stays reachable.
The path to a new job with SunnyHR
Nurses we have supported
Paola · 🇵🇪 Peru
Came from Peru as a university-trained nurse. Her qualification wasn't recognised at first — and she faced serious obstacles.
What we do
What we take off your plate
No sales pitch, no application portal. We do the work that sits between you and a better position — and you decide at every step whether it goes any further.
Employers we check first
Before we suggest an employer to you, we look into this. You get a shortlist, not a job board.
- Work at the level of your qualification
- Real opportunities to develop
- How the team treats international colleagues
If your qualification isn't recognised yet
Then we go through the recognition process (Anerkennung) with you — and look specifically for employers who actively support you instead of keeping you in assistant work. If your recognition is already done, we skip this part.
Authorities, paperwork and your residence permit
We check first what a change would mean for your residence permit (Aufenthaltstitel) — your actual situation, not a general answer.
- Checking your residence permit before any step
- Communication with offices and authorities
- Communication with your new employer
And if you decide against it in the end?
Then you still know where you stand — what your qualification is worth here and what would have been possible. That is a complete result, not half of one. Free either way.
How your first step works
Four short questions, then how to reach you. No CV, no documents.
A real person from the Sunny HR team will get back to you — on whichever channel you picked above. No automated newsletter.

Your contact person
Kashia — Recruiter at Sunny HR
Kashia has most of our conversations with international nurses — personally, as an equal, and without pressure. There is nothing to prepare: a short message is enough, you work out the rest together.

Our managing director
Niclas — Managing Director at Sunny HR
Niclas is also personally available for questions that go beyond the first conversation — or if you would rather speak to the management directly.
Frequently asked questions
You've got the questions - we've got the answers
Will I lose my residence permit if I change employer?
That is exactly what we check together first, calmly, before anything changes at your current job. There is no one-size-fits-all answer — it depends on your individual situation.
Do I have to resign straight away?
No. We look at your situation together first — resigning is never the first step.
Will Sunny HR contact my current employer?
No, not without your explicit consent.
Do I have to move for a new job?
No. Sometimes the better employer is in the city you already live in, or nearby — then everything else stays as it is. Moving only becomes a topic if you are open to it yourself. If you are, we take care of finding a flat and the paperwork.
I'm not actively looking right now. Is a conversation still worth it?
Yes — that's when it's most relaxed. You get an honest assessment without having to change anything.
What do I need for the first conversation?
Nothing. No CV, no certificates, no documents. A short message is enough.
Can I write in English?
Yes. Write in whichever language you feel more comfortable in — English or German.
What does this cost?
For nurses it is free — including if you decide against changing jobs afterwards.
How much does the region really matter?
In our experience, as much as the employer itself — which is why it is a fixed part of the conversation.
Arrive. Feel at home. Stay.
We want you to do more than just work in Germany — to actually arrive here, find your people, and feel at home.
